As part of the Order of the Arrow's rollout of the new Induction process, all lodges are required to document key components and milestones of the process, as outlined below, in OA LodgeMaster (OALM). The information at each step that will be required is:

  • Step 1 - See One: See On requires the lodges core team of induction facilitators (ceremonialist, luminaries, advisors/relevant support staff) to first go through the new induction. Documentation for Step 1: See One requires:
    • The name of the individual.
    • The role they are aligned to play (ceremonials, luminary, or relevant adviser / support staff).
    • The Induction Experience (National, Section, or Lodge) they attended.
  • Step 2 - Do One: Do one requires the lodge facilitate an induction experience, using their core team trained in Step 1, for existing members of the Order of the Arrow. In most cases, this is their own lodge through a Lodge Induction Experience (LIE). Select Exemplar Lodges will complete their step two requirements by facilitating a Section Induction Experience (SIE).
    • This step is logged using the Events tool in OALM.
  • Step 3 - Offer One: The final step of the process is to then offer the first new induction for new members of the order of the arrow. This would be the first batch of newly elected members who experience the induction to accept membership into the Order of the Arrow rather than the Ordeal weekend currently in place.
    • This step is completed using the Events tool in OALM.

Below is a detailed walk through of the technology enhancements available in OALM as of April 1, 2026 to support the Induction Rollout process.

Pre-Requisites

In order to access these tools, an additional permission has been created. Any LodgeMaster user who needs to view and/or edit the Induction Rollout will need the New Induction Rollout permission under the Category: Common menu below. Any user with the permission to manage user accounts may grant / revoke this permission at any time under the Users module. A screenshot below indicates where the new permission is located.

Navigating to the New Induction Rollout Manager (NIRM)

The NIRM may be accessed by:

  1. Navigating to the Members module.
  2. Under the Tools drop down menu at the top of the screen, select New Inductions.

Below is a screenshot of the NIRM and details on each section. The screenshot below represents the first time the NIRM is accessed a the process has not been started.

The left hand side of the screen is used to log Step One reporting requirements (detailed below) while the right side indicates a lodge's progress toward completion of the rollout.

Step One - See One Reporting

As indicated above, a lodge must list the name, role (ceremonialist, luminary, or support staff / adviser), and the induction experience they attended. You must log a minimum of

  •  5 Ceremonialists
  • 3 Luminaries
  • 2 Support Staff / Relevant Advisers

However, you should log all members of your core team who will facilitate the lodge or section induction experience.

Below is an overview of the Step One Status Options:

  • 1 - Not Started: No members added to the grid.
  • 2 - Incomplete: At least one member has been added, but the above minimums have been met.
  • 3 - Complete: All of the required team roles (described above) have been met by adding members to the grid.

Adding a New Member

Follow the steps below to add a new member:

  1. Click the Add Member button in the upper right-hand corner of the table.
  2. In the Name box, search for the lodge member. This list pulls from your list of active members. You will not be able to add anyone not listed as a member of your lodge in OALM.
  3. Select the Role they will play at your lodge induction experience event (ceremonialist, luminary, or adviser / support staff).
  4. Select the Induction Experience they attended. Note: only past events will appear in the drop down box.
  5. Click the Save icon at the end of the row.

Upon completion of Step One, the status indicator will update and should resemble the screen below.

Step Two - Do One Reporting

To complete Step Two, the lodge must schedule and execute an induction experience. Most lodges will conduct this for their lodges through an LIE while select lodges will complete this step as the section's Exemplar lodge.

Note: while reporting ONE event is required to complete the phase of the process, all lodges should report ANY event where they offer the new induction to existing members until NOAC 2027. Doing so ensures accurate data reporting for members who have experienced the new induction.

All lodges will need to log the induction experience where they offer the new induction to existing members of the OA. Exemplar lodges should enter this event as well to ensure they progress through the tracking process.

Below is an overview of the status options for Step Two:

  • 1 - Not Started: An event offering the induction for existing members has not been scheduled.
  • 2 - Future Event: An event offering the induction for existing members is scheduled for a future date.
  • 3 -
  • 4 - Complete: The lodge's peer coach has affirmed that the lodge has completed the new induction and is ready to advance to Step 3 - Offer One.
